ABOUT & Swag

Cecil’s Delicatessen & Restaurant, in St. Paul Minnesota’s Highland Park neighborhood, has thrived for over seven decades as a family run business.  As the oldest Deli in Minnesota, with 4 generations of family working side by side, we can only get stronger!

This Highland Park institution, is famous around the globe, for our made from-scratch matzo ball and chicken soup, hot reuben, potato latkes, knishes and so much more.

In 2019, Cecil’s  was spotlighted on the Food Network show, Family Restaurant Rivals. Owner Sheila Leventhal and her daughter and granddaughter Becca and Evana Kvasnik represented Cecil’s Deli, were flown to Hollywood California, to show off their Jewish cooking skills.

The Family that cooks together, stays together –

“We are the best deli in the midwest.”

Gone are the days of deli’s on every corner, “We’re a dying breed.”

In the middle-to-late ’60s, when David Leventhal started working for his in-laws, Cecil & Faye Glickman,  there were 12 Jewish delicatessens in St. Paul, we are the only one left!

Sheila & David purchased Cecils from the Glickmans, in 1980.
